Are You Ready for Your Academy…I mean…Prosperity Award?

By Marilyn Jenett

Lessons From the Oscars®

It’s Academy Awards® night here in Los Angeles and I’m sure many of you will be watching the telecast or watching the replay around the globe. While viewing the event a couple of years ago, I felt inspired to do something I’ve never done before — share a portion of Lesson Three of the Feel Free to Prosper® program that ties in beautifully with this theme.

I cannot resist giving you a taste of a principle that can garner you your own prosperity “Oscar.”

The following is part of the “homework” in Feel Free to Prosper Lesson Three, Accept It Now

Have you ever had a hidden desire to be an actor?

Ever thought what it would be like to assume a role and play that role in a movie or on the stage? To lose yourself in another persona, maybe one that is the opposite of yours?

Maybe you have even watched an actor and said to yourself, “I could do that!” Well, I am now going to give you the opportunity to do just that.

I want you to follow this scenario and imagine it to the best of your ability. Just go along with me on this…

You’re relaxing at the local Starbucks and a man spots you and approaches you in a gentlemanly manner and asks if he may speak with you for a moment. He looks like a nice fellow so you invite him to sit. He tells you that he has recently arrived in town to direct a new play opening at the local theatre (he shows you his card so you know he’s legit). He says that when he spotted you he realized you had the perfect look and style for a role in that play that had not been cast yet. Auditions had been held but they hadn’t yet found the right actor.

He asks you if you have ever acted or have acting ability.

“Well, I don’t know,” you manage to stutter.

“Would you like to audition for the part?” he asks.

“Can you give me more details?” you ask.

He then describes in detail the role that you would be auditioning for:

You are a prosperous, happy go lucky person, someone who never has to be concerned about income because your father is wealthy and quite generous. Your father believes you are a good and deserving person as you use your money wisely for yourself and others, so he has made sure that you are financially secure so that you are free to pursue your dreams.

Silently, you are saying to yourself, “But that isn’t me at all. How could I ever play that part?”

The director continues…He tells you that if you audition well and act the part realistically, you will be paid $10,000 to play the role for the three-week run of the play. $10,000!! You are screaming to yourself silently, thinking of all the bills that could be paid and the good things that money could be used for.

So you make the only sane and logical decision there is to make. You have nothing to lose. You will rehearse that role over and over until you feel the reality of that part. You will get the role and you will get the reward. You will imagine that you are on the stage (of life) feeling that you are a prosperous, happy go lucky person, someone who never has to be concerned about income because your father is wealthy and quite generous. You know that your father believes you are a good and deserving person because you use your money wisely for yourself and others, so he has made sure that you are financially secure so that you are free to pursue your dreams.

You are the Producer: You establish your vision, your desire, your goal

You are the Writer: You write your script

You are the Director: You direct your actor’s activity

You are the Actor: You rehearse and play the role until it feels natural

You can do this. The Universe responds: Your desire becomes manifest

Realize that when you claim your desire and play your roles well, everyone else in the theatre of your life automatically assumes his or her role as your supporting player to help you manifest your heart’s desire.

And all will be under the jurisdiction of the Divine Director.
